
We’re accountants. But we’re also teachers, coaches and builders who believe in giving back to our communities. Reznick Group regularly hosts volunteer events for our employees with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, local law enforcement agencies and more. Each of our offices allso participates in local charitable events that help their communities.
One of our most popular and successful charitable endeavors is modeled after the movie, Pay it Forward, which tells the true story of a young boy who does good deeds for others in need. In doing so, he asks that they pass on a good deed to another person, thereby “paying forward” an act of kindness.
In that spirit, Reznick Group has implemented a firm-wide ‘Pay It Forward’ initiative. Each December, employees receive a little something extra in their paychecks with the hope that they’ll “Pay it Forward” to organizations meaningful to them by making contributions. Motivated employees often turn their incentive into hundreds of dollars or more through fundraisers and creative sales. From funding cancer research to helping children a continent away, Reznick Group employees rise to the challenge bigger and better each year!
Reznick Group formed a National Social Impact Committee to help the firm make a positive impact in the communities in which we operate. As a national team, the committee works with employees in each office to promote volunteerism, community service and charitable giving. The National Social Impact Committee also serves to recognize our employees who give back to their communities.
The Reznick Reaches Out Award honors employees who are actively involved in making their communities a better place to live. Presented annually, Reznick Reaches Out Award winners in each local office are announced at our annual State of the Firm meetings. Honorees receive a donation to the charity of their choice and may be selected as the national Reznick Reaches Out award winner.
Reznick Group has established guidelines for each of our offices to commit both firm and personal time to community endeavors. Office-wide community events are held 1-2 times per year. Small group activities are continually promoted with most of our employees participating in several each year. Many of our offices maintain current information on various community organizations in their area so that Reznick Group employees can get involved on an individual level.
As an example, Reznick Group took a unique approach when it came to celebrating the firm's 30th anniversary. Rather than holding an elaborate party, the firm organized a series of community service projects. This not only enabled us to enjoy some time out of the office with our colleagues, it also enabled us to making a lasting impact in the communities that have contributed to the success of our firm.
In 2007, Reznick Group adopted a mantra that serves as the driving principle behind our community service efforts:
"Reznick Group will contribute to the well-being of the communities in which we operate through our business activities and through the talents and commitments of our people".
